Life in Bonita Springs as experienced by Jim Boeglin, a member of the Boeglin Team.

Biking is a regular part of my recovery since Triple Bypass surgery in ’01.  Biking is also a time for reflection on life and its decisions.  It was on a recent bike trip to the beach that I realized it has been 5 years since retirement as a Fort Wayne, Indiana attorney, in order to live the good life in Bonita Springs; and 3 years since Jan and I made the decision to become licensed real estate agents with Coldwell Banker.  It is true, time flies when you’re having fun.

Golf is a social sport that requires mental focus and concentration.  Biking can be a solitary sport that encourages introspection.  I love both sports, and get to enjoy them both in this place that most residents refer to as “paradise”.  As I bike from our Spanish Wells home to a nearby beach—3 miles to Bonita Beach, 5 miles to Lely Barefoot Beach, 7 miles to Vanderbilt Beach, 10 miles to Lovers Key, 15 miles to Fort Myers Beach, 18 miles to the Naples Pier—I am reminded of the many blessings of living in Bonita Springs, Florida.  Blessings like:

  • Our Spanish Wells friends and neighbors
  • The proximity of beautiful beaches
  • Outstanding golf courses in every direction
  • A climate that is as good as it gets
  • Sunrises over the golf course
  • Sunsets in the Gulf
  • A popular destination for children, grandchildren, family and friends
  • Bike paths to nearly everywhere
  • Golf buddies who appreciate the game as much as we do
  • Fine dining and neighborhood pubs
  • World-class shopping
  • Nearby theaters, cultural centers, and tourist attractions
  • A booming economy right in the middle of the Naples/Fort Myers corridor
  • Relatively affordable housing (compared to Naples or the East Coast)

Because of our love of golf, we have chosen to specialize in golf course communities.  During reciprocal season, we make a point of playing as many of the area courses as we can, in order to be familiar with the options available to buyers thinking of moving to Bonita Springs, Naples, or Estero.

After several years of frantic home buying, the market has “normalized”.  Buyers have lots of beautiful homes from which to choose, whether the goal is a seasonal home or a permanent move to Southwest Florida.  Let The Boeglin Team show you around!
